Important: This is an estimate only, not a guarantee of any specific subsidy amount. Actual premium tax credits depend on the specific plans available in your zip code, your confirmed household income, and final determination through HealthCare.gov or a licensed enrollment entity. Cost-sharing reductions (available on Silver plans between 100%–250% FPL) may reduce your out-of-pocket costs further and are not reflected in this estimate.

How This Calculator Works

This tool uses 2025 Federal Poverty Level (FPL) guidelines to estimate your ACA subsidy eligibility. Your FPL percentage is calculated by dividing your household income by the FPL for your household size. The estimated monthly credit range is based on the ACA sliding-scale formula using conservative benchmark premium assumptions.

The state dropdown helps contextualize your result — particularly for Louisiana, which expanded Medicaid to 138% FPL, meaning some residents at that income range may qualify for Medicaid rather than Marketplace plans.

For the most accurate figure, compare actual plans in your area with a licensed advisor. The credit shown on HealthCare.gov or provided by an advisor will reflect the real plans and premiums at your specific zip code. Learn more about how ACA subsidies work.
